SHAH ALAM: Selangor Mentri Besar Amirudin Shari (pic) is now one of the 16 people vying for the vice-president’s post in the upcoming PKR polls.
Amirudin announced his candidacy on Monday (April 11) while surrounded by the state’s Pakatan Harapan elected representatives as well as incumbent vice-president Tian Chua.
Tian Chua had announced recently that he would not be defending the position.
Amirudin said he was contesting the position as he saw it as a good platform to strengthen Selangor PKR in preparation for the next general election.
He also hoped that the upcoming party polls would strengthen and unite the party.
However Amuridun did not disclose who the 16 people contesting the post are.
The list of confirmed names vying for the vice-president's post so far is as below:
