KUALA LUMPUR: The Immigration Department nabbed eight undocumented immigrants in raids in Cyberjaya and Puchong on Wednesday (Nov 24).
Immigration Department director-general Datuk Khairul Dzaimee Daud said in a statement on Thursday (Nov 25) that 30 personnel were involved in the operation, which was conducted following complaints by locals.
"We conducted inspections on 25 foreigners. We detained seven Nigerian men and a Pakistani man aged between 24 and 35. They were detained for various offences including not having identification documents, overstating and violating conditions for passes," he added.
Khairul Dzaimee added that an Immigration officer suffered injuries during the operation after he was involved in a scuffle with a foreigner who refused to cooperate.
"All undocumented individuals have been brought to the Immigration depot in Semenyih. We will investigate further," he said.
