KUWAIT CITY, June 11: Assistant Director General of Jahra Residency Department in the Ministry of Interior Colonel Mohammad Al-Dousari has affirmed that Kuwait will be free of Residency Law violators by June 17, reports Al-Shahed daily. Al-Dousari warned that tough penalties will be imposed on whoever harbors violators, adding that intensive nationwide campaigns will be launched by the end of the grace period granted to violators to legalize their status by either paying the fine or leaving the country. He said a violator arrested after the grace period will be subjected to legal action and will be banned from returning to Kuwait. He confirmed that a violator who leaves Kuwait during the grace period will be allowed to return on a new visa.

He urged all violators to take advantage of the grace period granted to them to rectify their status. He added the Residency Affairs departments in Farwaniya and Mubarak Al-Kabeer deal violators who hold valid passports in the evening shift to complete their transactions. He also confirmed the availability of many employees and big space for violators; especially the elderly and those who are sick, to ease procedures for them.
