TAMIL schools in Perak are showing encouraging results in district-level chess competitions, winning several silver and bronze medals, Makkal Osai reported.
The Education Department-sanctioned online chess competition organised by the Perak Sports Council saw participation by primary and secondary schools from 11 districts in the state.
SJK (T) Saint Mary’s from Parit Buntar and SJK (T) Chettiars from Kinta Selatan won second place in the girls under-12 category in their respective districts.
Selama’s SJK (T) Ladang Sin Wah won bronze in the boys under-12 category while in Batang Padang, SJK (T) Ladang Katoyang won second and third place in the same category.
