A man was found fatally shot Tuesday morning outside the Anacostia Metro station in Southeast Washington, according to D.C. police.

       The shooting occurred near the station’s only entrance shortly after 10:30 a.m. in the 1100 block of Howard Road SE.

       A Metro spokesman said the station was closed and trains were bypassing it during the police investigation, which is expected to last into the afternoon.

       D.C. police did not immediately have further details.

       In a separate case, police on Tuesday identified Kevin Mayberry, 19, as the man who was fatally shot Monday night in Southeast Washington.

       Police said Mayberry, of Southeast, was shot at about 8:50 p.m. in the 2400 block of Alabama Avenue SE.
