PETALING JAYA: Sunway Construction Group Bhd (SunCon) said its joint venture (JV) company was officially appointed on Aug 9 to undertake a highway project in India.

       The construction group said the JV was informed by the National Highway Authority of India about the appointed date for the road expansion in Tamil Nadu where the construction period is two years.

       In a filing with Bursa Malaysia yesterday, SunCon said the operating and maintenance period is 15 years from the commercial operation date.

       On Oct 28, 2020, SunCon announced the JV, Sunway RNSIL MC Private Ltd had accepted the letter of award for the project.
