Prince William visited Leeds this week to speak with Afghan refugees that have been resettled in the UK and a local charity that help people in the area. The future king visited CATCH, a youth-led charity in Harehills, which helps young people with antisocial behaviour and presented them with Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service. Prince William said he was "blown away" by the work that was carried out there but royal watchers were also impressed with Prince William after he took part in a table tennis tournament and surprised everyone with his skills.

Footage shared online showed Prince William speaking with members of CATCH to listen to their stories and the charity work they do.

Prince William spent around an hour and a half at the centre where he fed goats.

The Duke of Cambridge also took part in a ping pong game as the crowd fell silent during the tense match.

Prince William tried to lighten the mood and urged attendees to "talk among yourselves" as he focused on the match.

Royal fans loved the interaction with Myfanwy Morris commenting: "Got to love Prince William, he's got it all.

"Looks, personality, a beautiful wife and children, god save the Queen."

Prince William appears to have improved his table tennis skills as he and Kate took part in another tournament last year which did not go as well.

While the future king was able to keep up a respectable rally in Leeds, he struggled during a visit to Ireland where he and his wife took part in doubles.

Later on, Prince William presented an award to the charity for their work and posed for a photo with members.

The royal said: “I have been blown away by the visit. It is an amazing achievement what you have all done here.

“You guys, the young people, built this together. I am blown away and quite emotional about it.

“You have worked together, don’t know each other, don’t speak English and have come together – you can’t not be proud.”

Prince William also visited a hotel where he spoke with Afghan refugees who were waiting to be resettled.

There, he heard stories from those trapped in Kabul who were desperately trying to get on planes to the UK.

Haroom Shahab told William he and his wife, Zehra Akbarti, had to wait for 28 hours at the airport to move just 200 metres in order to get on a plane.

He explained the horrific scenes: "They were running, they were desperate, in front of the oncoming aircraft. That was very hard for us...

"We were trying to get out of the country because our lives have been torn to shreds.

"When we got to the UK we finally knew we would be safe. The Taliban are killing people without compassion - policemen and their families just gunned down."

Prince William was heard telling families: "The most important thing is that you are safe now. You have a bright future.

       "You couldn't be more welcome."
