PETALING JAYA: Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob (pic) has ordered for the immediate enforcement of standard operating procedures following claims in a viral video of foreigners flouting regulations at a supposed vaccine dispensing centre (PPV).
“I hope the enforcement authorities will ensure the situation where foreign workers flouting SOP does not recur as it could cause the spread of the virus.
“I will call the relevant ministry including PDRM so that the incident can be dealt with immediately,” he said in his Facebook post late Wednesday (Aug 11) evening.
Ismail Sabri was responding to a one-minute video recording showing a crowd queuing at a commercial area with little regard for physical distancing.
A man is seen in the recording making a tearful plea for the police to enforce the SOP, claiming that foreigners were gathering outside the hotel for their vaccination.
Former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak who posted the video on his Facebook expressed dismay at the situation at the area, saying that he was more inclined towards private clinics, large drive-thru and community centres as PPVs instead of mega PPVs.
