KUALA LUMPUR: An enhanced movement control order (MCO) will be imposed in a number of localities in Selangor, Kuala Lumpur, Terengganu and Sabah here from Thursday (July 1).
Senior Minister (security) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said in Selangor, three localities in Petaling which will be placed under an enhanced MCO, and they are Mentari Court, PJS8; Taman Perumahan SS 91A, Sungai Way and Westlite Apartments.
"A total of 137 cases were recorded at Mentari Court while 64 cases were recorded at Sungai Way and 215 cases at the Westlite Apartments.
"As for Kuala Lumpur, the PPR Pantai Ria and Taman Bukit Angkasa would be placed under an enhanced MCO after 324 cases were recorded in both localities following 697 screenings.
"Meanwhile in Kampung Kubang Jela, Mukim Manir, Kuala Terengganu, will also be placed under enhanced MCO after 18 cases were reported following 111 screenings there.
"The Health Ministry also confirmed a positivity rate of 54.3% there," he said in a statement on Tuesday (June 29).
Ismail Sabri said in Sabah, Kampung Balung Cocos, Tawau, would be placed under enhanced MCO after nine cases were recorded from 27 screenings.
"Following a risk assessment by several agencies within the MCO technical committee, the government agreed to place all these localities under an enhanced MCO from July 1 to July 14.
