KAJANG: A one-year-old boy is in critical condition after nearly drowning in a pool at home.

       Kajang OCPD Asst Comm Mohd Zaid Hassan said the boy's mother found him unconscious in the pool at their house compound on Thursday (July 15).

       "Investigation showed that the victim had crawled outside through an unlocked grille before falling into the pool.

       "At the time, the victim's mother and grandmother were cooking in the kitchen, while his father was asleep.

       "Once the mother had finished cooking, she noticed that the victim was missing and searched the entire house before finding him in the pool," he said on Friday (July 16).

       The victim has been transferred to the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit at the Tunku Azizah Hospital in Kuala Lumpur.

       "He was transferred there from Kajang Hospital because he is in critical condition and requires close aid," he said.
