KOTA KINABALU: Former Parti Cinta Sabah (PCS) members who resigned from the party recently will soon announce whether they will accept Parti Bersatu Rakyat Sabah’s (PBRS) invitation to join the party.
Former PCS elected vice-president Datuk Ewon Ebin said they will seriously discuss the subject among their members and convey their decision once they’ve made it.
PBRS president Tan Sri Joseph Kurup had extended the invitation following PCS’ mass exodus a few days ago.
Ewon is believed to have issued this statement after PCS’ information chief Datuk Harry Baking wished them luck ‘in their new home in PBRS’ following their resignation.
PCS members, including their vice presidents who resigned from the party, cited inactivity of the party and a loss of political direction among others as their reasons.
PCS, led by former foreign minister Datuk Seri Anifah Aman, had lost all 73 state seats contested in the 2020 state elections.
Anifah had said that this mass exodus is ‘just politics’.
