KOTA KINABALU: Former foreign minister Datuk Seri Anifah Aman (pic) has denied receiving money from Ultra Kirana Sdn Bhd (UKSB), a company implicated in former deputy prime minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi’s ongoing graft trial.

Anifah said in a statement that he did not even know who the company and the people were and was shocked by the testimony of UKSB administrative manager David Tan Siong Sun during Ahmad Zahid’s trial at the Shah Alam High Court last week.

“It was reported that my name had been recorded in Ultra Kirana Sdn Bhd’s ledger as one of the recipients of the money.

“I am shocked by these reports,” he said, adding that he does not remember ever meeting Tan or receiving any money from the company.

“I do not know who they are and I did not have any dealings with them in any manner whatsoever,” he added.

Anifah said that he would assist in investigations by the authorities on the matter to clear his name.

On June 17, Tan testified that he had made payments to Ahmad Zahid between 2014 and 2018.

He also named several others ministers as having received payments from his company.
