A 32-year-old man was killed and his passenger was seriously injured early Saturday morning in a hit-and-run accident in the Back of the Yards neighborhood, Chicago police said.
The 32-year-old old man and his passenger were headed west in the 3600 block of West 47th Street when their vehicle was sideswiped by another vehicle that fled the scene, police said.
The victim lost control and struck a pole, and suffered trauma to the body and was pronounced dead at the scene. His passenger was taken in serious condition to Mount Sinai Hospital.
No one was in custody for the fatal accident, and police were investigating.
