A spokesman for the Anne Arundel County Fire Department said two patients were transported to hospitals about 8:45 a.m.
He said one person suffered a serious hand injury. The spokesman did not describe the injury to the second person but said it did not appear serious. The patients’ ages were not immediately released.
The school had been in lockdown, but it was lifted later in the morning. At about 10 a.m., police said on Twitter that there was “no active threat at the school” but said an increased police presence would continue.
Few other details were immediately available.
Lt. Jacklyn Davis, a spokeswoman for Anne Arundel County police, said updated information would be provided shortly.
Annapolis High School is on Riva Road near the county’s Board of Education headquarters.
