JOHOR BARU: Former Johor mentri besar Datuk Osman Sapian suffered a stroke at his home here on Wednesday morning (Oct 13).
Johor Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia deputy chairman Md Nasir Hashim said the Kempas assemblyman was rushed to a private hospital for medical treatment.
“He (Osman) suffered a stroke between 10am and 11am (and was) immediately taken to the hospital,” he said when contacted.
Md Nasir, a senator, said he received the shocking news while he was at the Dewan Negara.
Permas assemblyman Datuk Seri Che Zakaria Mohd Salleh said Osman would be transferred to a hospital in Kuala Lumpur later in the day.
“So far, I do not know the latest about his condition but I will be visiting him in Kuala Lumpur tomorrow and pray that he will pull through from this unexpected incident,” he said.
Osman, 70, was the 16th Johor mentri besar and the first from Bersatu after the general election in 2018.
He was in office for about 11 months before resigning from the post in April 2019.
