Pals say she lost control of her motorbike and could have been spooked by an animal that ran out into the road.

But just two days before, in what was her last post on social media, she curiously posted a picture that appeared to prelude her untimely death.

Showing an horizon at dusk, she captioned the post to her 2,288 followers: "Sleep is a gentle death."

It had also come just months after Alina's lost her own mother which, according to those close to her, had left her deeply saddened.

Posting on Instagram on July 21 she said that she had finally come to peace with the tragedy.

Her death on Monday was swiftly announced by her friend and compatriot, influencer Artur Sita, to his 101,000 Instagram followers.

In a short statement he wrote: "Today, to our great regret, a pure soul has left us in an accident.

“A bright memory forever remains in our hearts, beloved friend."

According to reports she had been living in Thailand for more than a year, giving photography classes and teaching yoga.

She had reportedly been motivated to move to the South East Asian country in search of a new life in the wake of the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic last year.

At this stage it is not clear if the local authorities are investigating the incident.

Meanwhile, there is also no information about the possible repatriation of Alina's body to her native Russia.
