KUALA LUMPUR: The Sunway Group will be launching its RM160mil Sunway Hotel Big Box in Sunway City Iskandar Puteri, Johor, in phases from today.
In a statement, Sunway said the launch of the hotel is in line with Johor’s transition to phase two of Malaysia’s National Recovery Plan, as well as to prepare for the arrival of domestic tourists once interstate travel resumes.
It said the 284-room hotel offers guests access to a verdant natural playground, surrounded by some of the region’s lushest mangrove forests resulting from extraordinary preservation and conservation efforts by Sunway.
“The hotel is Sunway’s first in southern Malaysia and themed to be a new haven of nature and adventure.”
During the soft-opening phase this month, Sunway said guests would be able to book the stylish 32 sq metre Deluxe King or Twin Rooms, which can host up to two adults and two children.
Alternatively, Sunway said guests have the option of enjoying the spacious 57 sq metre Family Suites, which feature a separate living space, two bathrooms, a bedroom with a super king or twin beds, a sofa bed, capsule coffee machine and a microwave oven.
“When guests are not discovering the local area, they can unwind in the outdoor pool and children’s pool, work out at the 24-hour fitness centre, or chill out while sipping cold beverages and watching live sports at the pool bar.
“The Pendas Cafe serves local and international cuisine for breakfast, lunch and dinner, with a 24-hour in-room dining menu, while a link bridge offers direct connections to many additional food and beverage options at Sunway Big Box Retail Park.”
For corporate travellers and event planners, Sunway Hotel Big Box features three flexible meeting rooms that can accommodate between 20 and 300 people, with a three-metre LED video wall and mobile 86” interactive touch screen Smart Panel to add a wow factor to any presentation.
“Guests can now experience this exciting new era of creative, cultural and eco-sensitive hospitality at Sunway Hotel Big Box with a choice of exclusive room and dining packages, valid for stays taken by Dec 31, 2021.”
Sunway Hotel Big Box is accessible via Senai International Airport, Puteri Harbour International Ferry Terminal and the Coastal Highway Southern Link from Singapore, which is 5km away.
Sunway City Iskandar Puteri is a 1,800-acre integrated township with residential, hospitality, retail, educational and upcoming medical elements.
The Sunway Hotel Big Box is connected via a link bridge to the Sunway Big Box Retail Park offering a variety of leisure activities, shopping and restaurant outlets.
