KUALA LUMPUR: Bersatu will submit an amendment to its party constitution to the Registrar of Societies (ROS) on Monday (March 11), says party president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin (pic).

       He said that the ROS had fixed 10am on Monday for the party to make its submission.

       "(Opposition leader) Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainuddin, myself and other party leadership will submit the amendment which was decided on during the recent Bersatu special meeting," he said after the closing ceremony of the Perikatan Representatives Convention in Kuala Lumpur on Saturday (March 9).

       At an extraordinary general meeting (EGM) attended by about 1,500 delegates on March 2, Bersatu passed a motion to amend Clause 10 of its constitution to automatically nullify the membership of any of its elected representatives who shift their allegiance to rival parties.

       The motion was mooted by party deputy president Datuk Seri Ahmad Faizal Azumu and was unanimously approved.

       Muhyiddin hoped the amendment would be considered fairly and receive approval from the ROS.
