Ms Neuman, died from an internal haemorrhage after eating meat which had not been cooked properly on October 8, 2018. Ms Neuman and a group of 31 churchgoers ate the shepherd's pie at the Crewe Arms in Hinton-in-the-Hedges, Northamptonshire. Of the 35 villagers who went to the pub for a Harvest dinner, just three did not become ill as they ate the vegetarian option.
A court was told the meat had not been cooked properly by former chef of the pub, John Croucher, 40.
Croucher admitted he had been rushed on October 7.
The meat from the shepherd's pie had been placed in a pan of cold water the night before and was then wrapped in cling film and put in a fridge overnight.
The meat was then cooked again the next day, and warm mash potato was added, but the pie's temperature had not been checked before it was served.
Croucher admitted contravening food regulations.
He was handed a four-month suspended jail sentence on Tuesday at Reading Crown Court.
The court was also told the pub had received one star for its food hygiene in 2017.
It had received three in 2015 following inspections.

Croucher said: "I really hate to say it but I think I was rushed. I was rushing.
"Remorse is an understatement.
"This is something I will never forget.
"Because of it, I am a better chef and it is just a shame the cost of it had to be what it was."

Pub owner and landlord Neil Billingham, 54, of Northampton, was fined £9,000 plus £1,000 in court costs after admitting three charges of contravening food regulations.
Judge Sarah Campbell said: "A healthy and well person died of a gastrointestinal haemorrhage induced from vomiting.
"No sentence I can pass can reflect the loss caused to the family.
"The Crewe Arms is an important pub to the local community.
"I have read many references from members of the community, who all say Mr Billingham worked hard to maintain the support of the community, including Mrs Neuman’s daughter.
"Looking at the evidence, this was not a one-off mistake.
