COPENHAGEN, March 23 (Xinhua) -- Denmark's robotics and drone industry is experiencing significant growth due to global trends fueling demand for automation, according to figures published in a report on Wednesday.
The "Insight Report 2022" was launched at Odense Robotics' annual conference held on March 23-24 in Odense, Denmark's third largest city.
"Denmark continues to rank amongst the world's leading robot nations, delivering a strong 12 percent growth last year and even higher rates in segments such as collaborative and mobile robots," Odense Robotics' Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Mikkel Christoffersen, said in the report.
"Global labor shortages at end users are fueling demand for automated solutions and extending deployment of Danish robotic and drone technologies to new sectors, such as logistics, retail, construction, healthcare, and energy," he said.
The report, the first analysis of Denmark's robotics, automation and drone industries, also revealed that 78 percent of the associated companies contribute to customers' green transition and/or circular economy, demonstrating their key role in the global green value chain.
According to the report, Denmark currently has over 400 robotics companies that employ 14,500 people.
The turnover of Denmark's robotic industry was 2.8 billion euros (3 billion U.S. dollars) in 2021, including 1.5 billion euros in exports. (1 euro = 1.10 U.S. dollars)
