AN RAF veteran was banned from Facebook for sharing a Viagra advert — that had been approved by Facebook.

       Peter Picknell, 85, spotted the plug on the site and shared it with the harmless pun, “Anybody up for it?”

       It was meant to give his former military pals in a Facebook group a giggle but the site’s censor-bots spotted it and outlawed former corporal Peter over the “abusive” comment.

       He was initially barred for three days, later extended to 30. No reason was given, he said.

       Peter said: “I post a light-hearted ‘Thought for the Day’ every few weeks, because part of being in the forces was the camaraderie and banter, and so on.

       "On this occasion, I took an advert for Viagra I’d actually found on Facebook and added a pretty harmless innuendo.

       “I thought the chaps would find it funny but I soon received a notification from Facebook to say I’d ‘gone against their community standards’.”

       Grandad Peter, of Uxbridge, West London, added: “It’s ridiculous. How could what I posted be considered offensive? All I did was add four words to an advert.

       "It’s innocuous stuff. You see far worse on Facebook that goes unpunished. I don’t know what they’re playing at.

       “It’s a dangerous road for them to go down as it becomes very restrictive.”

       Facebook was contacted for comment. It comes after the site banned mention of “too rude” Norfolk waterway Cockshoot Dyke.
