Sir Jacob Rees-Mogg has been defeated in North East Somerset, despite previously winning a majority of more than 15,000 votes.
He found out that he lost standing next to Barmy Brunch, candidate from The Official Monster Raving Loony Party (wearing a baked bean balaclava) in bizarre scenes.

Sir Jacob's former seat was also the 326th to be declared for Labour, confirming Sir Keir Starmer's absolute majority.
The top Tory, who has held the constituency since its creation in 2010, lost out to his Labour rival Dan Norris - who Sir Jacob had previously unseated in 2010.
The former Brexit minister polled 15,420 votes, with Labour winning with 20,739 votes. Reform UK's candidate gained 7,424 votes, with the Liberal Democrats on 3,878 and the Greens on 3,222.

It comes on a disastrous night for the Conservatives, with Prime Minister Rishi Sunak officially conceding the election at around 5am.
Sir Jacob congratulated Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer on “what seems to be a historic victory”.

Speaking at the University of Bath after the result was declared, Sir Jacob said: “May I begin by giving my warmest congratulations to Dan Norris, who has been a servant of North East Somerset or Wansdyke as it then was before and I am sure will be a devoted constituency MP in the future.
“And congratulate Sir Keir Starmer, who has led his party to what seems to be a historic victory. And this is the great virtue of our democracy, so I congratulate both of them.”
