CLICK TO ENLARGEPUTRAJAYA: Malaysia recorded 11,079 new Covid-19 cases on (Tuesday) July 13, the first time it has reached five figures.
In a tweet, Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said Selangor had 5,263 new infections - the highest in the country.
Kuala Lumpur is second highest with 1,521 cases followed by Negri Sembilan wth 1,033.
In the same 24-hour period, there were 125 fatalities, bringing the death toll to 6,385.
There were also 5,990 recoveries, which means 753,328 have recovered from the disease nationwide.
There are still 972 patients in intensive care units, with 456 requiring ventilator support.
