Andrew Neil revealed he was warned against getting a car with Dodi (Image: Getty)
Television presenter and journalist Andrew Neil has revealed he was once warned against getting in a car with the late Dodi Fayed.
Neil, who worked for Mohamed Al-Fayed as a media consultant, said he encountered film producer Dodi a few times while working for the businessman, and even stole his London office when trying to launch a newspaper. He described Dodi as "polite, even charming".
However, Neil says he was struck by one think a late colleague once said about Dodi. Writing in the Daily Mail, Neil said press photographer Terry O'Neil told him never to get in a car with Dodi.
According to Neil, after he mentioned Dodi was a "nice chap", O'Neil replied: "Yes, he is, but never get in the back of a car with him. He does nothing but shout at the driver to go faster. It's scary."

Neil has written in the Mail about his life working for Egyptian business mogul Mohamed Al Fayed. It comes after his former boss died aged 94 on August 30 - a day before the 26th anniversary of Diana and Dodi's death in Paris.
The couple had just left The Ritz hotel via a back entrance in an armoured Mercedes-Benz W140 being driven by the deputy head of security Henri Paul on August 31. They were reportedly being pursued by paparazzi when the car crashed in the Pont de l'Alma tunnel in Paris.
Diana, Dodi, and Paul died as a result of injuries sustained in the crash. Bodyguard Trevor Rees-Jones survived but sustained a serious head injury.
A jury inquest into the death of Diana concluded that Paul had been drink-driving and driving at speed at the time of the crash. It returned a verdict of unlawful killing through grossly negligent driving by Paul and the following paparazzi vehicles.

Writing about the crash in the Daily Mail, Neil says the decision to leave The Ritz on the fateful night was made at the last minute, as was the decision to take a route through the tunnel.
It came after Dodi had to get his dad to approve the plan with hotel security. Neil writes: "By Al Fayed's own testimony to me, nobody could have been lying in wait to assassinate them since nobody knew in advance what they were going to do or how they were going to do it.
"In the end, the People's Princess died a tragic but strangely prosaic death — at the hands of a drunken driver who was going too fast.
"We can only wonder if the last words the occupants of that car heard were Dodi urging the driver to 'Go faster, go faster'."
