KOTA KINABALU: The Star Online, in our story headlined ‘Musa Aman's son Hayssam passes away at 34 due to Covid-19’ reported on Tuesday (Aug 24) that Mohammed Hayssam had been battling cancer when he was infected with Covid-19.

       It was pointed out to us that Mohammed Hayssam passed away due to severe Covid-19 pneumonia.

       “Mohammed Hayssam was not suffering from any form of cancer when he passed away. He was in good health before he was infected with Covid-19," infectious disease specialist Dr Timothy William said in a statement issued here Wednesday (Aug 25).

       Dr William had treated Mohammed Hayssam.

       The Star apologises to the family of Tan Sri Musa Aman for any inconvenience because of the initial news report.
