JOHOR BARU: Leaders must reach out to help the people instead of expecting the people to come to them, says Johor Mentri Besar Datuk Hasni Mohammad (pic).
Hasni said in a tweet that the Johor state government has given allocations to all the 56 assemblymen regardless of their political differences.
“God willing, we will try our level best to help everybody.
“Alhamdulilah, the allocation is for welfare aid at their respective constituencies,” he tweeted on Friday (July 2).
On May 27, after chairing a special virtual meeting with all state elected representatives including MPs, Hasni announced an aid allocation of RM50,000 for each assemblyman to help those affected by the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.
He also encouraged those who want to do charity and help the needy, especially at the present time.
“Help will always be available in Johor through the Yayasan Sultan Ibrahim Johor, the state government, non-governmental organisations or even individuals. We always help the rakyat,” he added.
Meanwhile, Bukit Batu assemblyman Jimmy Puah Wee Tse said while giving out aid to the needy in Taman Putri at around 12.30pm on Friday, he noticed a house in Jalan Putri 6/11 with a white flag.
“I immediately visited the house where a 21-year-old man has raised the flag. He is living with his mother and three siblings.
“His father died at the end of last year and his family really needed help,” he said, adding that he later provided aid to the family.
Puah, who is also the state deputy PKR chief, promised to give assistance as soon as possible to any house within his constituency that has raised a white flag and urged people to come forward and help the needy.
