KUALA LUMPUR: Wanita Umno has thanked its machinery for their dedication and commitment during campaigns in two state polls which have been resounding successes for Barisan Nasional.

       Its chief Datuk Seri Dr Noraini Ahmad said that the Wanita machinery worked hard at all levels around the clock to ensure Barisan’s success in the Melaka and Johor polls.

       “They left their families for weeks to serve Umno during the elections because they want to see the party win. To Wanita members who have worked for the success of the polls, I thank you. You are all extraordinary," said Noraini.

       “To voters and Bangsa Johor, God willing, we will make good Barisan’s promises,” she added in her address to the Wanita delegates on Thursday (March 17).

       In the March 12 polls, Barisan won 40 out of the 56 seats in the state assembly while in Melaka state elections held last year, it won 21 out of 28 seats.
