KUALA LUMPUR: The disparity in issues among voters in Peninsular Malaysia and Sabah shows the pressing need for development in the state, says a Sabah delegate.
Sabah Umno's Jeffery Nor Mohamed said during campaigns for the Melaka and Johor polls recently, voters said how important connectivity is for them.
“But in Sabah, the people still talk about water and electricity supply and potholes on the road," he said.
“I hope the Prime Minister and the Rural Development Minister will look at how these issues can be resolved,” added Jefery during the debate at the Umno general assembly on Saturday (March 19).
He said the government needs to see to it that problems regarding basic infrastructure are settled before the 15th General Election (GE15).
Jeffery then added that Sabah Umno has resolved to work hard to ensure victories for the party in GE15.
“We were tested but instead of breaking us, it made us stronger. So bring the election on, we are ready to fight,” he said.
