JOHOR BARU: Police will call up the organiser of a concert in Ayer Hitam to help investigations under the Prevention and Control of Diseases Act 1988 (Act 342).
Johor police chief Comm Datuk Kamarul Zaman Mamat said the police have been informed of the incident and will conduct an investigation following a viral video showing a large crowd dancing at the event.
“I would like to remind event organisers not to create any programmes that could lead to public unrest. If they do, we will conduct an investigation into them.
“So in this case, it is clear that they have failed to comply with Act 342 when they are partying,” he said during a press conference at the Johor police headquarters here on Sunday (March 6).
He added that although the police did not receive official information on the matter, an investigation will still be conducted and they will call up the event organisers.
A series of videos regarding the concert went viral on social media, showing a group of youngsters partying during a concert, without any physical distance.
The concert is believed to have been organised by the Communications and Multimedia Ministry and was officiated by Communications and Multimedia Minister Tan Sri Annuar Musa on March 4.
