KUWAIT CITY, Oct 24: The Council of Ministers has officially declared Kuwait’s return to normal life but two of the decisions related to the issuance of visas and the airport operating to its full capacity, will practically require about two weeks to taste normalcy, reports Al-Rai daily. The Directorate-General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), according to sources, is ready for a gradual return to full operation of the airport, and will work according to the organized plan, in coordination with the concerned authorities operating at the airport, ground services and airlines and remaining in contact with several other airports. Security sources said “the decision to re-issue entry visas of all kinds, for those who have received the two doses of Corona vaccines approved by Kuwait, requires several steps for practical application.”

The same sources explained a meeting of the senior security officers in the ministry must meet to develop a vision and a mechanism in this regard to implement the decision, in coordination with the Public Authority for Manpower. The sources indicated after the success of completing transactions electronically during the Covid-19 crisis, the Ministry of Interior (MoI) will continue to strengthen this mechanism, and work to issue “online” visas, especially for residents in the country, and not return to the old manual system which required the applicant to visit the respective departments for all personal transactions. However, there are instances when an applicant may have to visit the department, but this will be precisely determined during the meetings scheduled to be held soon. The sources suggested this will soon become clear, and the issuance of entry visas are expected to be issued at the beginning of next month at the latest.

Amid the decline of COVID-19 pandemic infections, Kuwait enters the fifth stage from the gradual return plan to getting back to normal life albeit cautiously, with different sectors getting to work again. Aviation started at its full capacity, on Sunday. Worshippers at mosques can now pray in stacked rows with no distancing, keeping health regulations by wearing masks and social distancing at closed places such as shopping malls, restaurants, and cafes.
