Futuroscope is one of France's largest theme parks and boasts IMAX movie screens, a hot air balloon bar and Mars-mission themed rollercoaster. The venue in Poitiers, western France, is about three hours from Disneyland Paris by train and opened five years ahead of Disney's attraction.

       Futuroscope has 16 futuristic looking buildings across 60 hectares with each ultra-modern space housing different shows, interactive exhibits and experiences. These include The Best of Dynamic Cinema, where you feel yourself hurtling along in a bobsleigh, racing at great speed around a circuit.

       Another eye-catching attraction is Futuroscope's Aérobar, a cozy bar in a hot air balloon with 12 chairs set around a bar with a bartender in the middle. The park's Objectif Mars rollercoaster won "best new rollercoaster" at the European Star Awards 2020.

       There are lots of spectacular shows too, including the incredible show, The Key to Dreams, where visitors are plunged into a fairytale display of 3D aquatic effects with dancing lights and images on giant water screens.
