KUALA LUMPUR: Barisan Nasional's victory in a series of by-elections and state elections does not guarantee an easy win in the next general election, says Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan.

       The coalition's deputy chairman said that it will be risky and dangerous for members to assume so.

       "Firstly, as I mentioned in my previous speeches, Barisan's position is not like pre-2018. Post 2018, the era has changed.

       "Barisan has shrunk in numbers, not only in terms of numbers of MPs, but also the number of component parties, the states we govern and the public support we command.

       "This is the reality, based on facts and data," he said in his opening speech at the Barisan Nasional Convention at the World Trade Centre, Kuala Lumpur on Wednesday (June 1).

       To this, he said Barisan must face the realities that to win an election it will not come so easily but must be made with strategic planning.
