A 32-year-old man was charged with first-degree murder in the fatal stabbing of a 61-year-old man in the Back of the Yards neighborhood, Chicago police said.
Rolando Morales was arrested Monday, shortly before 10:45 p.m., less than 10 minutes after stabbing a victim in the 1700 block of West 45th Street, police said.

Officers responded to a disturbance Monday and found Lorenzo Lavalle, 61, with a stab wound to the chest. He was taken to UChicago Medicine where he was pronounced dead, according to police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.
A witness at the scene told officers the victim was involved in a fight with Morales in the hallway of an apartment complex when Morales pulled out a sharp object and stabbed him, police said.

Police also said Morales forced entry into two residences on Wood Street where officers found him. He also was charged with two counts of home invasion causing injury.
Morales was scheduled to appear at a detention hearing Thursday.
