RICHELL Lee, who is a member of the all-girl group Four Golden Princess, has tied the knot, reported Sin Chew Daily.

The 31-year-old, who has been engaged to Lim Kian Sheng since 2019, announced on social media on Dec 28 that they recently got married.

“I don’t need your advice for the rest of my life as long as you continue to love me.

“With the passing of years and the rising and setting of the sun, (I hope) we will be able to continue holding hands,” she wrote while posting a photo of themselves right after registering their marriage.

In the photo, Lee and Lim are seen standing more than a metre apart, which sparked jokes among fans that the couple were adamant about maintaining physical distancing even on their big day.

Lee, who is better known as Hong Er in the Four Golden Princess, now works as a ballet instructor.

The couple dated for 10 years before tying the knot.

Other members of the Four Golden Princess congratulated Lee on social media, to which she replied “thank you for your wishes”.

The Four Golden Princess was a popular local band among children in the 1990s, having released memorable hits such as Hong Qing Ting (Red Dragonfly) and Mi Feng Gong Zuo (Bees Hard at Work).

The group produced more than 20 albums before disbanding in 2008.

       > Despite calls by the Education Ministry for schools to groom teachers to take on the mantle of senior assistant, it was revealed that many teachers were reluctant to take on the role due to the massive increase in workload without a corresponding increase in pay, reported China Press.

According to Lim Bee Khim, president of the National Union of Heads of Schools, senior assistants did not get to fully take time off during school holidays, unlike teachers.

“Moreover, many teachers who are passionate about teaching are reluctant to transition into a more administration-based role,” she said.

Lim pointed out that despite the increased workload, headmasters are given an additional allowance of RM300, whereas senior assistants are given RM60, which is disproportionate to the increased workload.

Apart from administrative work, headmasters and senior assistants are required to maintain a good relationship among the school board and the parent-teacher association, other than teach six classes a week.

“To be a headmaster or a senior assistant, one must be passionate about the work so that they will not easily give up when faced with various challenges,” she said.
