KAMPAR: The Perak government is considering tightening the standard operating procedures for dine-ins.
State Housing, Local Government and Tourism Committee chairman Datuk Nolee Ashilin Mohammed Radzi said the state was now studying the matter along with plans to fully vaccinate all premise owners and workers.
"It is not enough to allow only fully vaccinated customers as restaurant operators should also get vaccinated as well.
"Generally, we are aware that the people are excited to be able to dine-in again but they still need to be more careful," she said after flagging off the "Jalur Gemilang Convoy" at Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman here on Friday (Aug 13).
"Customers need to be prepared and be cautious when dining in at restaurants. This includes choosing the right and safe place to dine-in," she added.
Eateries in Perak, along with other states under Phase Two and Three of the National Recovery Plan, were now allowed to accept fully vaccinated customers to dine-in.
Nolee Ashilin said a programme to get restaurant operators to be vaccinated has already started in several other states.
"We were informed that there is a Community Vaccine Mobilisation programme that focuses on getting food stall owners to receive their vaccination.
"It is yet to be implemented in Perak but we are hoping for it to be conducted soon," she said.
