COLIN the Caterpillar can put all his feet up with a male partner this Valentine’s Day — after M&S launched a gay version of the cake.
His leggy mate Connie can do the same with a female in what the retailer describes as their “first-ever same-gender pairing”.

The cakes are usually sold separately although M&S brought Colin and Connie together as a cosy couple for Valentine’s Day last year.
This time you can pair them up for a limited time with a chocolate sponge of the same sex.
Or you can just stick with Colin and Connie.
It said on Instagram of its ￡10 Valentine’s Day special: “Love is well and truly in the air as everyone’s favourite caterpillar cake is now available in his first-ever same-gender pairing.
“For the first time ever you can pick up your favourite pair with our half-size Colin and Colin, Connie and Connie, or Colin and Connie.
“And yes, that means BOTH of you get the face (ie the best bit) so no arguments!”
Last week, it emerged that M&S and Aldi had settled their legal dispute over Colin after the German retailer was accused of copying the design.
