A South Holland man and an Oak Lawn man were shot to death over the weekend in South Holland in what appear to be related incidents.
Javonte Hale, 23, of the 15300 block of Drexel Avenue, died shortly after 10 p.m. Friday from multiple gunshot wounds in what the Cook County medical examiner’s office ruled a homicide.
Josiah Jefferson, 18, of the 9800 block of South Pulaski Road in Oak Lawn, died of a gunshot wound to the head at 12:41 a.m. Saturday at Advocate Aurora Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, according to the medical examiner, which ruled the death a homicide.
South Holland police did not respond to a request for additional details.
The medical examiner noted that Hale’s shooting occurred at 15360 Drexel and that Jefferson was shot at 15340 Drexel. The medical examiner’s case numbers for both men were sequential, indicating the shootings were related despite the lapse in time of their deaths.
