INDIAN TV star Sidharth Shukla has died aged 40.

       The actor and presenter shot to fame in soap series Balika Vadhu, India's Got Talent and reality show Bigg Boss.

       Sidharth Shukla was an actor, host and model who appeared in Hindi TV and film.

       He was born in Bombay, present-day Mumbai, and went on to study interior design.

       He then launched a modelling career and came runner-up in a competition run by Gladrags magazine.

       Shukla later represented India at the World's Best Model contest and became the first Indian, and first Asian, to win the title.

       He made his acting debut playing Shubh Ranawat in Babul Ka Aangann Chootey Na before starring in several other popular series.

       In 2012, he featured in Colors which saw him nominated for several awards, and the following year he took part in celebrity dance reality programme Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 6.

       In 2014, he had a role in romantic comedy Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania before hosting crime show Savdhaan India.

       Shukla went on to host India's Got Talent and win both Fear Factor and Bigg Boss.

       What was Sidharth Shukla's cause of death?

       Shukla's death was announced on September 2, 2021.

       He reportedly suffered a heart attack before being brought dead to Cooper Hospital, Dr Sukhdeve told Indian Express.

       A port-mortem examination has not begun while police procedures continue.

       He is survived by his mother and two sisters.

       Was Sidharth Shukla married?

       Shukla was said to have been dating Indian actress and fellow Bigg Boss contestant Shehnaaz Gill, with rumours the pair had tied the knot.

       But in February 2021, he confirmed on Twitter they were just good friends.

       He said: "Brother, the single tag is good. I am still a bachelor and yet some people in the media have announced that I have married."
