PETALING JAYA: Police issued 219 compound notices for standard operating procedure violations in this latest round.
Senior Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein said police also remanded 37 people.
“Compliance task force operation teams with 18,444 personnel conducted 89,183 spot checks and inspections on Wednesday.
“Following failure to comply with SOP, 60 premises were ordered to shut down immediately,” he said in a statement yesterday.
He said the task force checked 1,620 factories, 16,873 business premises, 467 construction sites and 166 workers’ dormitories.
“Under Ops Benteng, seven illegal immigrants were rounded up. Nine vehicles were seized as well. A total of 918 roadblocks were set up on the same day,” he said.
On disinfection operations, Hishammuddin said 262 operations were carried out in 70 red zones and one orange zone.
“Since March 30, 2020, a total of 38,080 operations were carried out by the Fire and Rescue Department together with local government personnel,” he said.
He added that on Wednesday, 690 individuals entered the country and were placed at 83 hotels and 11 public training institutes and private education institutes.
Meanwhile, Hishammuddin said the enhanced movement control order for several areas in Terengganu, Pahang, Kelantan, Sabah and Sarawak will end today.
He said the enhanced MCO at Kampung Padang Kubu, Mukim Tebak, Kemaman, in Terengganu, which started on July 31, ends today.
Meanwhile, Taman Puri Warisan in Kota Kinabalu, Kampung Pengiran in Sipitang and Kampung Wokok Kinuta in Kota Belud in Sabah will also be placed under enhanced MCO for the same period.
“In Kelantan, four villages in Alor Pasir (Kampung Chenerai, Kampung Lubok Kawah, Kampung Pohon Tanjong and Kampung Pak Jak) as well as Kampung Landar in Kubang Gadong and Kampung Kubang Sawa in Tumpat will also be placed under the enhanced MCO from Aug 14 to 27,” he said.
In Pahang, Hishammuddin said Kampung Bongkok in Bera and Kampung Gadak in Rompin will be placed under enhanced MCO from Aug 14 to 27 while the Sri Datai Mining Sdn Bhd workers’ quarters in Mukah, Sarawak, will also be placed under enhanced MCO for the same period.
“Meanwhile the enhanced MCO at Taman Desa Bidara in Kuala Ketil, Kedah, which is scheduled to end today, has been extended to Aug 27. The same goes for Amber Court Apartment and Grand Ion Delemon Construction Site in Genting Highlands, Kampung Wek Batu 23 in Labok, Kelantan and Kampung Gambaron 2 in Telupid, Sabah,” he said.
