KUALA LUMPUR: The retail prices of RON97 and RON95 petrol will remain at RM4.70 and RM2.05 per litre, respectively, from June 2 to 8.
The Finance Ministry, in a statement on Wednesday (June 1), also said the price of diesel would remain at RM2.15 per litre.
In the statement, it said the prices of RON95 petrol and diesel were maintained at their ceiling prices even though market prices have risen above this.
According to the ministry, the new price is based on the weekly retail price of petroleum products in accordance with the Automatic Pricing Mechanism (APM) formula.
"The government will continue to monitor the trends of global crude oil prices and take appropriate measures to ensure the continued welfare and well-being of the people," it said.
