The re-election of Donald Trump is a significant moment not just for America, but for the UK and the entire Western world.
At a time when our alliances and shared values face increasing pressure from external forces, Trump’s return to the White House marks a renewed chance to strengthen our transatlantic partnership, reinforce Western ideals, and prioritise the interests of sovereign nations like ours.

Trump’s victory came as a surprise for many, likely misrepresented by the media as a closer race than it was.
He has secured a landslide victory over Kamala, gaining control of the Senate and Congress, which now allows him to fully fulfil the promises he made throughout this historic campaign.

With many parallels between the challenges facing the US and the UK—such as illegal immigration, inflation, and a severe housing crisis—Trump's victory is a win for all of us.
When Trump was in office from 2017 to 2021, we saw a president who openly championed Brexit, showing strong support for the UK’s decision to leave the European Union.
This was not mere rhetoric—he genuinely valued Britain’s sovereignty and stood ready to help us prosper as we took control of our future.
Trump understood that a strong, independent Britain would benefit the world, and he was prepared to work with us to forge a robust trade deal that could have bolstered our economy and ensured our success outside the EU.
In contrast, the Biden administration showed less enthusiasm, often placing more emphasis on the EU relationship. Trump's return offers a chance to rekindle that special relationship based on respect for British autonomy.
Trump’s "America First" approach resonated with many of us here who believe in putting our nation’s interests first. Under his leadership, the U.S. took a firm stance against China, challenging issues like trade, technology, and security.
As the UK faces its own challenges in dealing with Chinese influence, Trump's assertive policies provide a strong model for us to follow.
His focus on NATO’s fair contributions also held European allies accountable, leading to increased defence budgets across the continent. With Trump in office, the Western alliance became stronger, not weaker, and it gave allies like the UK more leverage on the world stage.
Trump has proven to be a leader of peace by prioritising diplomacy with adversarial leaders across the globe.

Britain must swiftly roll out the red carpet for Trump. If we don’t, a great opportunity will be squandered.
I’m relieved that this process has already begun, with our very sensible Speaker of the House of Commons, Sir Lindsay Hoyle, making it clear that Trump will be able to address Parliament during his State visit next year.

Donald Trump’s victory is a reminder that true leadership means standing up for one’s people, for their values, and for the future of Western ideals.
The UK must seize this moment, embrace our ally across the Atlantic, and work together toward a stronger, freer world.
I believe in what is best for the UK and in our fight to bring this country back into the hands of the hardworking Britons I represent. To me, Trump's victory is a win for the world and will help secure the future of our relationship with the United States, our most important ally.
