MUAR: The Gambir seat will see a four cornered-fight between Barisan Nasional, Perikatan Nasional, PKR and Parti Pejuang Tanah Air (Pejuang) after the Election Commission accepted all of the candidates nomination papers.
Umno candidate Sarihan Jani will take on PKR candidate Naim Jusri, Perikatan candidate Mohd Solihan Badri, and Pejuang candidate Suraya Sulaiman.
However, PKR candidate Naim, was isolated by authorities and was not allowed in the nomination hall after testing positive for Covid-19.
When met later, Johor PKR chief Syed Ibrahim Syed Noh confirmed that Naim tested positive.
He said that the campaign will go on without the candidate.
"We have made plans so it is not a challenge.
"So we will continue as usual. This could be an advantage for us," Syed Ibrahim.
