Passengers at Birmingham Airport were left stuck in long queues for a second day as travel chaos at the major transport hub enters its second day.
Holidayers were backed up outside the departure doors of the West Midlands airport early this morning, with some reporting that they arrived three hours ahead of take-off only to be stuck in the logjam.
X user @BiteYourBrum posted: "Yeeeeah, Birmingham Airport is an absolute shambles Glad I came three hours early now.
"I can hardly see departures but there’s hundreds in front of me just to get inside. Oh and if you come by monorail they’ll just send you outside to join this, btw. What fun @bhx_official"
Another passenger Jodie Rhianon warned people to avoid catching flights from Birmingham, and shared a photo of the build up at around 5.45am on Friday.
"Public service announcement: If you are thinking of flying from Birmingham airport anytime soon. Don't," she wrote, adding: "You're welcome."
A further X user @CaptainGlobie posted a picture of the queue at around 7.30am showing it extending to outside the Arrivals entrance, writing: "Good job the suns out…
"To be fair to staff they are doing a great job trying to make sure people get flights on time but it needs fixing. Not like you wouldn't expect passengers at an airport…"
Passenger Catherine West told Birmingham Live she was "alarmed" after taking her place in huge queue at the airport but said she was still able to make to the gate in "good time".

Birmingham airport said in a statement: "With the ongoing construction works and liquid restrictions in place, the airport was naturally busy as you would expect for a Friday getaway.
"Queues can be seen daily at peak times, which is natural for any airport. A picture of a queue is subjective, and in the moment, at that time. We strongly advise that customers follow our advice and turn up only in line with their check in opening time.”
