Greater Manchester Police have since confirmed the youngster has been found "safe and well".
An updated statement read: "Some good news this evening, Rohvani - aged 9 - has been found safe and well and returned to his family.
"Thanks to everyone who shared our appeal this afternoon."
The schoolboy was described as a mixed race male, of a slight build, around 5ft tall with a small brunette afro.
He was reported missing wearing a grey school uniform jumper, with black pants and black shoes with a white sole.
A major search was launched to find Rohvani, before cops found him safe and well.
Officers previously said they had become "increasingly concerned" about him and "want to make sure he is safe and well".
A public appeal shared on Wednesday included two pictures of Rohvani.
