KUALA LUMPUR: Widad Group Bhd, Kelington Group Bhd, Grand Hoover Bhd, Tri-Mode System M Bhd, Tomei Consolidated Bhd and Komarkcorp Bhd are among the stocks to watch on Thursday, according to JF Apex Research.
Widad has secured an RM53.2mil contract from the Public Works Department for the construction of a new school and other facilities at SMK Bukit Mahkota in Bangi, Hulu Langat.
Kelington has secured a contract worth approximately RM45 million to undertake specialty gas systems distribution (Ultra High Purity) works for GlobalFoundries Inc’s new semiconductor fabrication plant in Singapore.
Grand Hoover has been appointed as the main contractor for an RM69.88mil construction project in Terengganu.
Tasco has been certified as an authorised economic operator by the Royal Malaysian Customs Department, which enables it to offer a number of benefits to its selected customers, which include priority customs clearance both at origin and destination, lower rate of physical inspections of imported or exported goods, faster release of shipments, deferred payment of duties, as well as enhanced security and improved risk mitigation.
Tri-Mode has inked an agreement with Pulau Indah Industrial Park (PIIP) master developer Central Spectrum (M) Sdn Bhd for the purchase of 5.38 acres of industrial land in PIIP Phase 3, with an investment cost of RM17mil.

JF Apex noted that Sime Darby Plantation, SP Setia, KLK, Samchem, Berjaya Food recorded higher year-on-year quarterly earnings. On the other hand Tomei, Kawan Food, Brahim’s posted weaker year-on-year quarterly results.
Meanwhile, the US market declined overnight after the Federal Reserve minutes of meeting said the Fed could start reducing bond buying before year-end.
Earlier, European stocks climbed as the UK's inflation unexpectedly dipped while Europe's inflation was higher than expected.
“Following Tuesday's surge, the FBM KLCI could take a breather and trend sideways below the resistance of 1,535 points,” JF Apex said.
