Taro Kono (Mainichi)

       Former COVID-19 vaccine minister Taro Kono, 58, of the ruling Liberal Democratic Party is projected to win in the Kanagawa No. 15 constituency in the House of Representatives election on Oct. 31, beating newcomers including Katsumi Sasaki, 66, of the Social Democratic Party to secure his ninth general election victory.
