Replace Boris with Jacinda Ardern! Calls for NZ leader to be traded with PM

One user took to Twitter to plead with Liz Truss to include a Prime Minister trade in her negotiations with New Zealand. Ms Truss’ announced yesterday that the UK “has made great progress in Round Six of trade talks with New Zealand.

“Our modern partnership will go further in green and digital trade, promote our shared values and be an important step towards joining the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for the Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP).”

The user joked: “Great progress would be trading Johnson for Jacinda Ardern.

“UK Prime Minister Johnson said ‘let the bodies pile high in their thousands’. Jacinda Ardern has shown that the 150,000 deaths Johnson has caused could have been avoided.”

The tweet, which sparked more than 350 likes, caused quite a stir with one self-proclaimed socialist saying: “Oh, yes please, can we?”

Another user said: “Why would New Zealand want the refuse that is Johnson?”

Others disagreed with one man saying: “Why would anyone want a Tony Blair clone in a dress?”

Another said: “No New Zealand is miles off pace with Covid vaccinations.”

The survey, which is carried out by ConservativeHome, highlights a decrease in trust for Mr Johnson as he lost 35 points in the last month. The last 30 days saw the Prime Minister refusing to initially self-isolate after being contacted by the NHS Track and Trace, Matt Hancock resigning and unexpected losses in two by-elections.

The PM has also been told he must stand up to the EU over a whole range of issues, especially the Northern Ireland Protocol which is intended to prevent a hard border on the island of Ireland.

Jayne Adye, founder of pro-Brexit campaign group Get Britain Out, said: “After six months of simply kicking the can down the road, with extension after extension delaying an inevitable conflict, the Northern Ireland border issue needs to be resolved quickly.

“Now Prime Minister Boris Johnson is out of his luxurious self-isolation at Chequers (due to a Covid contact ping), I hope he will realise it is up to him to ‘Take Back Control’ of the Northern Ireland issue, or else his inaction could lead to the break-up of the United Kingdom!”
