PONTIAN: A house in Tanah Wakaf, Kampung Tenggayun near here was gutted in fire on Wednesday (April 27).

       Pontian Baru Fire and Rescue station chief Mahadir Mamat said the station received an emergency call regarding the fire at 12.49pm.

       "Fifteen firefighters from Pontian Baru and Pontian Fire and Rescue stations were deployed to the scene," he said in a statement.

       Mahadir said two Fire Rescue Tender (FRT) vehicles, an Emergency Medical Response Services (EMRS) vehicle and a water tanker were used in the operations.

       "The fire damaged 75% of the building," he said, adding the cause and the losses suffered were still under investigation.

       The fire was put out at 2.10pm.
