Neil Oliver has hit out at Nicola Sturgeon over her assurances of delivering a new vote. The Scottish First Minister said a vote should take place before the end of 2023.

She promised that constitutional issues would be dealt with once the coronavirus pandemic is over.

Mr Oliver told GB News: “The problem for Nicola Sturgeon and the SNP is that the majority want the union and always have.

“I’ve said over and over again that the result of the referendum in 2014, 55 percent in favour of retaining the Union, 28 local council areas out of 32 voting to retain the union.

“There’s fluctuations here and there but broadly speaking that is the reality. The majority want the union.”

The presenter opined: “Everything that the SNP touch turns into a great big pile of steaming doo-doo.”
