Several public school systems in the D.C. region announced closures or a delayed start for classes Wednesday as icy conditions linger in some areas after the snowstorm earlier this week. At least two systems, Alexandria City Public Schools and Prince George’s County Public Schools, will hold virtual classes.

       School closures

       Arlington Public Schools classes are canceled Wednesday. Culpeper County Public Schools are closed Wednesday. Fairfax County Public Schools classes are canceled Wednesday. Fredericksburg City Public Schools classes are canceled Wednesday. Manassas City Public Schools classes are canceled Wednesday. Prince William County Public Schools classes are canceled Wednesday.

       Snow days persist even in an era of virtual learning

       School delays

       Anne Arundel County Public Schools will open two hours late Wednesday. Conditions will be reevaluated Wednesday morning. Falls Church City Public Schools will open on a 2-hour delay Wednesday. Day care will open at 9 a.m. with no drop-ins

       Virtual classes

       Alexandria City Public Schools will hold virtual classes Wednesday. Prince George’s County Public Schools will resume virtual classes Wednesday.
